I know it's not feasible for everyone, but if you can get to the sacrament of reconciliation once a week as well, dang it makes a difference! I have been strenghthened, humbled, and opened to grace through this sacrament time and time again. I easily get legalistic, so I need to set these checkmarks for myself to make sure I'm checking in with God and examining the state of my soul. Seriously, though...ye...#2 is the story of my life! Seriously, though...yes, there are black and white issues, but I have gotten so Pharisee when I would think that every single little thing was black and white, no excuses. And I would even go further and basically think of what I did as the Ultimate Right, so if a person didn't agree with me or do what I did, in my mind, they were adhering to the Ultimate Wrong, which was unacceptable in my mind. Ugh! It was awful. Thankfully, God has done so much to me over the years to soften my heart up and show me that not every issue out there is black and white, and-like you pointed out-I've found that it is so vital to not make assumptions about stuff.
